February 17, 10am-1pm: Breads, Broths and Soups ($25)
Tutorial followed by lunch.
March 2, 10am-noon: Seed Swap (Free) and Gardening 101 ($25)
10am Seed Swap. Followed by an 11am indoor seed-starting tutorial- take home a seeded flat with plastic dome
March 30, 9am-4pm: Rent-A-Chick (1 for $15 or 2 for $25)
Foster a baby chick for one week, includes food and wood chips. At home you provide a box and a heat source.
Pay for Chicks at the Lamppost Farm store. Prior registration not required.
April 13, 10am-noon: Regenerative Agriculture 101 ($25)
Principles of permaculture as it relates to regenerative agriculture.
Guest instructor: John Creasy.
May 4, 9am-Noon: Wonderful World of Wool ($25)
Farm to Fiber: Follow the process of wool to yarn. See demonstrations of shearing, spinning, weaving, knitting, and felting.
June 8, 8am-noon: Chicken Processing: From Field To Freezer ($25)
Processing from start to finish including parting out a whole bird- Take home one whole chicken.
Also opportunity for discount on fresh chickens to put in your freezer.
June 22, 9:30am-noon: Animal Husbandry 101 (1 for $25, family for $40)
Lamppost Farm Executive Director Steve Montgomery will lead an in-depth tour of Lamppost Farm principles and practices. Take home a farm t-shirt
July 20, 9am-noon: Herbalism: Tinctures, Salves, Teas & Tonics ($25)
Tutorial and take home your choice of two homemade items.
August 10, 8am-noon: Chicken Processing: From Field To Freezer ($25)
Processing from start to finish including parting out a whole bird- Take home one whole chicken.
Also opportunity for discount on fresh chickens to put in your freezer.
September 21, 8am-noon: Preservation 101: Tomatoes and Herbs ($25)
Participate in tomato prep and canning demo, then take home a pint of canned sauce.
October 5, 10am-3pm: APPLE FESTIVAL (free)
Press your own cider and stir the apple butter. Opportunities to purchase food, drink, apple pie and apple butter.
November 30, 9:30am-noon: Wreath Arranging and Coffee ($25)
Tutorial and coffee; supplies included to create one wreath with live greenery.
