Pastured Poultry - Start to Finish
May 13
8a - 5p

We have learned so much through nine years of raising poultry on pasture and we want to share what we have learned. This workshop will be an in-depth look at the Lamppost Farm process of raising chicks to chickens on pasture for meat.
It will include establishing a brooder, options for chick purchases, field pen design and construction, watering systems, finances of pastured poultry, marketing, and feed mixes. We will also process and continue with the workshop until we are finished (mid-afternoon to dinner time). Participants will get a hands-on experience of slaughter, evisceration, safe handling, packaging, sales, Ohio laws, parting chickens, and a bountiful feast of the fruits of our labor.
We are excited to host this workshop and look forward to promoting pastured poultry throughout the Western Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio region. Cost of the workshop is $100 and will run from 8 am to 5 pm . Registration space is limited due to the hands-on nature of the project.
