For ages 18-25 yrs., are you interested in our 2023 Lamppost Farm Fellowship or Internship? Below are specifics.
Agriculture, by design, is communal. Fellowships & Internships in an agricultural setting should be designed that way too. That is why fellows & interns at Lamppost Farm are invited into the life of the farm. They are not encouraged to stand at the periphery, just offering labor. Rather, they are invited to practice life together in this agrarian setting. This means they come to lean-in, to learn alongside, and to offer their gifts and talents as well. We have structured the finances of our fellowships & internships to be representative of this design as well. They are also encouraged to consider raising support from their home community as they are sent on a mission to learn, work, and serve in ministry with Lamppost Farm to our community. Below is a document outlining the 4 seasons of a year-long fellowship at Lamppost Farm. The first season is a summer internship. Fellows that are invited to continue are expected to stay for one year (June-May) because, from our experience, a longer investment produces exponentially greater returns. However, we understand that not everyone has a year to give to this adventure so you could consider a summer internship (May 28 - Aug. 3, 2023).
If you are seriously considering a fellowship or an internship at Lamppost Farm and want to speak to past fellows/interns, please contact us for phone numbers or email addresses. Each of them would be excited to see this program build upon new generations.

2023 FELLOWSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS
Season 1: June-August
Benefits: housing, meals and $300-$500 stipend given at the completion of this season
Structure: communal living (gender exclusive) in the farm house, shared lunches, community food for other meals on your own (specialty items purchased personally), shared house cleaning, weekly study and discussion, scripture study & prayer together, nights and Sundays generally free, time away can be discussed. You'll work in all aspects of the farm during this season (gardens, animals, community outreach, organization and business practices, landscape management). This is a very full time on the farm!
Season 2: Sept.-Nov. (fellows)
Benefits: housing, meals and $300-$500 stipend given at the completion of this season
Structure: communal living (gender exclusive) in the farm house, shared lunches, community food for other meals on your own (specialty items purchased personally), shared house cleaning, weekly study, scripture study & prayer together, nights and Sundays generally free, time away can be discussed. Your work will now bend towards the area of the farm that most interests you so you can gain a deeper understanding of those practices.
Season 3: Dec.-Feb. (fellows)
Benefits: housing & meals, guided mentorship in direction and calling
Structure: communal focus and much less structure to the work. This season is one of rest and strategy. We encourage fellows to begin to apply what they've learned in the last 6 months in a part-time job off of the farm (vocational ministry). Fellows will also be guided to set goals for their future as well as design a specific project they will potentially implement in the 4th season on the farm and be able to put on their resume. Some examples would be to design a retreat, workshop series or conference, design a business or farm of their own, research new strategies for a current project of Lamppost Farm, apply for a new position, etc.
Season 4: March-May (fellows)
Benefits: housing & meals, potential $500 stipend, depending on role at Lamppost Farm
Structure: Fellows will execute the project or plan that they designed in season 3 Or some other specific responsibility. They will help prepare the farm for the next year of interns and fellows. They will finalize any necessary preparation for their next steps. Fellows may be invited to join the staff of Lamppost Farm.
