reminiscence 10/10/2011
I guess it's been longer than I thought. We spent 13 years with the CCO, a ministry, for which we raised financial support, before we moved to Ohio. When we incorporated as a non-profit in January, the question came up, "Do you think you can raise $42,000 for the operating budget?" I actually didn't hesitate. I mean, we raised that much a year when we left the CCO. However, once I began, I was faced with fears, anxiety and actual rejection. So, I did what any strong, rooted disciple of Christ would do; I gave up...momentarily. But, the need actually didn't go away. And, faith rose within me to stand firm in my calling to this ministry. I believe in what we are doing here and I believe in relying on the body of Christ. So, here I am, resolved to continue to do the scary "A" word (ask) for as long as I have to. And, because God loves to provide for our needs, I will also be called to the other scary "R" word (receive). Add Comment In awe! 09/21/2011
Already, I am amazed at the gracious response from so many. It's not an easy thing to "ask" in our culture today... but my comrades are apparently up to the challenge! Here we go! 09/20/2011
Well, in spite of starting the "one month" campaign 25 days from the finish line on October 15, I am actually really excited and hopeful! Those of you who know me, will be praying for sanity and grace for myself during this month. I have no doubts that God is going to show up in amazing ways (usually different than my expectations)!
